A. Hey Maria,
the tasks of an IT manager would include but not limited to:

Networking

Assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting regional infrastructure.
Implements network security at the regional level as established by corporate Security Director.
Oversees the administration and maintenance of the company's infrastructure, and directs more junior Innovators when necessary.
Oversees the administration of the company's WAN.

Telephony

Manages and develops upgrades to the company's telephone system at the regional level.
Oversees all telephone changes, including routing for seating assignments.
Training & Lab Maintenance

Oversees the administration and maintenance of computer stations and software for company training programs and the Learning Studio and provides additional support if necessary.

Internal Systems

Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.
Works with project teams to help implement Internal Systems.
Help Desk Administration

Oversees all help desk activities at the regional level.
Responds to escalated help desk issues.
Oversees the administration and maintenance of our tracking software.
Interacts with internal clients on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner.

Asset Management

Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products.
Manages the purchasing of all software, hardware and other IT supplies at the regional level.
Ensures that company assets are maintained responsibly.

If you get a 6500 Derhams per month you should negotiate getting 10% more so you should get 7150 Derhams it always depends on you negotiation skills and your current supperiors relations(and of course i am saying if you stay in the same position).

for DBA positions, there are plenty of opportunities all over the world right now for this kind of position and in Dubai as well, you can apply online to recruitment agencies directly to companies or even to print hard copies of your CV and give it in person to HR or front offices of the companies in free zones,Dubai internet city Dubai media city.... and i am sure you will get a good offer.

Good luck Maria

"Without IT India is zero!"?
Q.

A. information technology (IT) help the storage, processing, transmission and exploitation of information to satisfy a person's, company's, society's or government's needs for information. The invention of printing was the first big break-through in Information Technology. It enabled literacy and education to go up from 10% to over 80% within 50 years in India. Other break-throughs for Information Technology were the inventions like telegraphy, telephony, wireless or radio, television, broadcasting, computers (from room size to desk top to lap top to palm top and very soon, wearable ones.)

Even though India is producing many college graduates and engineers every year, most of these people are not suitable for immediate employment with western firms. . In a country of 1.1 billion people, raw talent is plentiful but not all of it is market-ready.

Salaries for software engineers are rising at an average 20% a year, and in some other segments even 50 percent annually, compared with 5 percent annual raises for software engineers in the U.S., China, Vietnam, Thailand and other locations.

For India to continue the rapid paced development it has shown over the last three years, India must not only produce more top-quality engineers but also show the world the depth and quality of its talent in other fields plus also demonstrate that this talent can be found in cities beyond Bangalore and Mumbai to better smooth the development process.

Private-sector investment, such as modern offices, apartments, and shopping malls in off shoring centers has not been matched by public investment in airports, roads, and utilities. Infrastructure improvements are necessary to enable the millions of people attracted to these locations to live and work more efficiently. In general, the Indian government, both national and local, realizes these challenges and is investing in infrastructure. India is at least a decade behind China in the coastal regions in terms of infrastructure. Modern areas near New Delhi are being created and in general infrastructure in the north is better than in most areas of the South at this point, but much remains to be done.

So in India IT has a big role in social and economical structure. So without IT India isn't a zero but it is leads to an under developed structure.
