Macs Vs Pcs and all the inside stuff HELP!!! EASY POINTS?

Q. ok so ive been reading all the past questions about macs vs pcs but im still confused. I want to buy a mac for home use - so internet and movies etc. but people keep telling me to buy a pc. Few questions, will i be able to run photoshop on my mac? my next question is to do with internal stuff. The two macs im looking at ( both desk tops) have different Ghz ratings- ones 2.4 and the other 2.66. Will this make alot of difference? also any other key things im missing when buyin a mac????

Help! im so confused.
oh and can i run firefox or do i have to use safari?

A. If you are buying a Mac directly from Apple (the new ones), then there is no problem on buying the Mac.

New Macs come with something called "BootCamp", this allows you to run Windows in your Mac as a regular PC, so if you have software only for Windows, you will be able to use it as well (after installing Windows as well)...

You can have both Mac and Windows in your future new Mac, so buy the Mac... ;)

If you can buy the 2.66 GHz one, then purchase this one instead, as it will be best performing. It will also depend on the use you will give to your Mac, if you are not going to be using it for work such as designs, music and video edition, etc. then you can buy the 2.4 GHz with no problems...

McAfee does no pick up the virus/malware in a system scam.... WHY?
Q. This has happened before.... I get a threat on my computer, and it says that there could be potentially dangerous software, etc. but when I run the McAfee complete system scan it picks up nothing.... why?
Recently, I went onto a safe website, it said it was safe anyways ( green McAfee siteadvisor) the site was about hair styles, and i guess it was not a safe site and it said my computer may have gotten something on it, and now theres a freakin *un RECOIL* icon on my desk top, but McAfee wont get anything on a scan!! HELP

A. Are you positive this program didn't come bundled with any software you may have recently installed? Have a look in the 'Add/Remove programs' or 'Uninstall a program' list in your Windows Control Panel - depending on what it is, you may have the option of uninstalling it that way. Of course, if it *is* malicious, you probably won't have this option.

Either way, I would try scanning with all of the following:
* Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (free version) - http://www.malwarebytes.org/
* SUPERAntiSpyware (free version) - http://www.superantispyware.com/
* ESET (NOD32) free online scanner - http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/

It is safe to install both the free versions of MBAM and SAS as neither include real-time protection. Keep both and perform regular scans in the future to double-check that nothing has slipped past McAfee's shields.

Also, don't pay too much attention to McAfee SiteAdvisor (in regards to accepting it's ratings as accurate) - in some cases, it's results have been found to be over a year out-of-date! Install an alternate solution such as Web of Trust. While WOT is still not 100% accurate (after all, sites are rated by the public), it is a much better guide than SiteAdvisor.
