what is active and passive intrusion?

Q. An example of each would be great.

A. Active intrusion is knowing the account details and being at the computer.
Passive intrusion is sending someone a piece of software, mostly malware that collects information for remote access.

Active intrusion can be legal if we are talking about remote desktop assistance like Teamviewer, used by helpdesks.

A. With TeamViewer you can remotely control any PC anywhere on the Internet as if you were sitting right in front of it. No installation is required, just run the application on both sides and connect - even through tight firewalls. TeamViewer is free for personal use.

UltraVNC is a Free helpdesk remote control software. With it, you can access your PC from anywhere and remotely help people and customers. Both Host and Remote components can be installed together on the same computer, or they can be installed separately on different computers.
