what is a good help desk tracking system?

Q. My company and I are looking for a reliable help desk tracking software. We wanted to be webbased, easy to use for end users, asset management, able to assign tickets and to have a report builder.

Thanks!!

A. Hi,
I'm also looking for the same sort of help desk tracking system which is free and open source. So far, I found this site to be the best. http://www.helpdeskreloaded.com/

Their demo system can be accessed from http://www.demohelpdesk.com/index.php

Check it out. Hope it helps.

Best free or cheap help desk software?
Q. I am looking for some free or cheap help desk/ticket system software. Does anybody have any ideas. I've downloaded and tried everything on the planet. Please don't suggest to me anything that requires me to set up servers and php and sql and such. If it can't all be set-up on a single computer, then it is way more than I need. I found something last year, but forgot what the name of it was. It was free too! Please help!

A. Check the User Reviews at this link for programs....

I am facing two problems with my computer when I log in?
Q. 1) I get this message on my desktop.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Buffer overtime detected!
program: C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE ,

The moment i close it, desk top items disappear. I tried different antivirus software but the problem persists

2) I also get this web page HTTP 404 Not found error with IE 6, even when I switched to fire fox.

I use windows XP with SP2

Need understandable solutions, Thanks in advance.

An average computer user.

A. Some of your system files on your system are corrupt or you could have a virus and or spyware on your system. First thing if would do is boot into safe mode and scan for virus. But if you don't have an up to date virus scanner, try the repair option. More info on this can be found here
http://www.help2go.com/Tutorials/Windows/How_To_Repair_XP_and_Avoid_a_Full_Reinstall.html

Or if you have the manufacture restore cd try it

In the worst case situation you will have to reformat the drive and start from scratch.

If you don't have an anti virus I strongly recommend you get one.

I recommend getting Mcafee ($40)
I do not recommend getting Norton
An free alternative is AVG

Mcafee can be found at most dept stores. Best buy, Walmart, ect

To download AVG Go here

I recommend Ad aware to remove spyware. (Free)

And/or Spybot S&D

Good Luck
