Why can't I reply to messages and empty my trash and spam on my work computer?
Q. I don't have a problem using my yahoo mail on my computer at home

A. Below you will find most common reasons why email cannot be sent, replied to, or forwarded.

Switch "Rich Text" to "Plain Text"

The inability to send, reply, or forward emails could be from a program that was installed on your computer that is now preventing the Yahoo! Mail Rich Text toolbar from launching properly. Try switching from "Rich Text" compose mode to "Plain Text" as a work around:
1.Sign in to your Yahoo! Mail account.
2.Click the New button to start a new email.
3.To the far right of the "Subject" line click the "Plain Text link.
4.Compose and send your email.

To make "Plain Text" your default when replying or forwarding, do this:
1.Sign in to your Yahoo! Mail account.
2.Click "Options," then select "More Options" from the pull down arrow in the upper right corner of your Mail page.
3.Select "General" from the list of options on the left side of the page.
4.Check the box next to; When replying & forwarding Mark original message with > (plain text only).
5.Click the "Save Changes" button in the upper left corner.

Signing on as an administrator

Administrator has all the rights to make changes on the computer and can remove Internet access, disable scripts, macros or the ability to install new software.

Please verify that your computer account has the administrator privileges. Please note that this is the default on home computers, but is especially important if you're in a work or shared computer environment. If you're uncertain, please check with your computer vendor or help desk to verify your computer's settings.

If you already have administrative privileges, let's move on to the next troubleshooting step.

Troubleshooting your Internet Browser

Most issues with Yahoo! Mail can be resolved quickly by ensuring you're using an up-to-date Internet browser, and completing some browser troubleshooting.

Can someone please tell me what a day in the life ( work wise)of an Electric Engineer is like?
Q. Serious question.
My step son is doing a school assignment on The career of an Electrical Engineer and we can not find any web sites that talk about this. Also we need to know the salary range.
And when and where does math come into the work.

A. This was yesterday:

Woke up at 5:50am, drove 45 minutes to work, arrived at 7:05am (mostly to beat the traffic.

Spent the first hour going through email, etc. Delt with the morning spam, not so much this morning, had 48 spams yesterday awaiting me.

Answered an email with my board assembly house regarding a yield issue. Had to look at the layout files to verify some issues, noted to the board house that we are filling the holes under the big pads and plating over the epoxy, so we can't be wicking solder. Went to the boss and talked to him about the progress in solving the yield problem.

Passed the president of the company in the hall. He asked how the new design was coming. Had to explain the problem so he could understand it (he is not an EE), not hard to do, but wanted to represent the problem correctly so expectations would not set incorrectly.

Reviewed the solder profiles from various vendors by looking at a bunch of datasheets. Sometimes it is hard to find datasheet info on this, so I had to hunt around the vendor's web sites. Got interrupted by the technician who came by asking what this part was that he found when taking part one of the products that had been returned from a customer. It was a nylon washer which we use to seal the housing. He could find that the BOM called for 5 of them and this particular location needed 4, where did the fifth go and what was the part number? Actually the BOM should have called out 24. It was not on the BOM because the ME left the company about the time the drawings were getting revised and this must have fallen through the cracks. So, we did an update to the PDF, updated the BOM, updated the MRP system, and of course, I had to find the part number and vendor for this part. Found out that the part had been described incorrectly.

Long morning, took a break, answered some emails from vendors that want to show me some new parts. One fellow has a new line of outdoor IP67 rated connectors, that looks interesting, so we will meet next Wednesday. Another was wanting to qualify a new board vendor. That is too much work, don't feel like taking on that challenge right now. management is ok with the prices right now, perhaps if volume improves we will look at it in a few months.

At lunch at my desk, reading more news. Answered some personal emails.

Back to the thermal profiles. Decided to check the layout to see what the copper planes looked like. Found nothing at issue, but decided to make it look nicer. Doesn't hurt if it looked better, because then the errors stand out if they are there.

Backed up the design files. Was notified that Microsoft once again had more updates. Downloaded and installed. Had to reboot the system again, so that meant cleanly shutting down everything I had open. Since I generally have 50 to 100 windows open in Firefox, did a quick save all tabs so I could reopen later. Did restart, went to get a drink of water.

Needed to find some power supplies for test work. Have to build a few test setups so the software folks can work on the board and we don't have enough lab level supplies to make it work. Asked purchasing to order a part. They came back with 2-4 weeks ARO. That sucks, I need it Tuesday. Left email for vendor asking for quote on a supply. Saw another supply that might work from same vendor. Asked this time for a quote on supplies they had in stock that met the requirements I needed.

Was asked about a wiring harness on my way back to my office. Needed to call up the connector specs. Microsoft was still loading. After was able to get the specs, had to look up the wire specs. Did not see anything that was amiss. They really wanted to know if they could find a substitute part for the connector since the lead time was long. Looked for alternatives, found none. Found that they had both 94V-0 and 94V-2 parts and our application did not need either in particular, so approved the alternate part.

Vendor called regarding supplies. Found one that would work. Used personal credit card to order four. Need to remember to do expense report.

Back to thermal profiles. Vendor wants the boards back, but first I need to document what I see. Found the camera, took pictures. Put pictures on computer, found they were blurry, had to retake, this time being more steady. Cropped images and added arrows to point to items, labeling everything for the report. Wrote preliminary report, send off to all parties. Packaged up boards in bags and took them down to shipping to send off the the vendor.

Back to my desk. Discovered that the power supplies were going to be shipped ground from NJ to here, a 5 day proposition. I asked the guy to ship them UPS Blue. Arggh. Called and emailed the guy, gave him our UPS shipper number and asked for them to go out tonight and make sure they were 2 day. Got a call back, order has been corrected and should have the parts on Monday.

Went to staff meeting, lasted about an hour. Not much for me to repo
