What kinds of problems might I run into when building a computer?

Q. I am planing on building a computer sometime soon. It's my first time building one from the ground up. I have some expierience with taking them apart and instaling components and stuff. I was wondering what types of problens and difficulties I might run into when building. I checked the compatability of all the components and they should all work together How hard is it realy and what are the most common problems that I might have?

A. You will not run into any problems. the secret?
ALL: WAYS READ THE USERS GUIDE FOR THE ITEMS!
To plan your computer, open a word document, go on line to a computer part store.
Start with a case, select one, copy item name and paste on document, copy the URL, WEB site where you are at, paste at top of document.
Copy the picture and paste, copy specs and paste last copy/type the price. safe doc as, 'My First Computer.

Do the same for every item you must buy to build your computer. Throw the items in the basket while you are at it, that gives you the cost for your dream!

Do this at other sites, that way you can compare prices. Send me your e-mail and i will send you a reference example.

To place Active@ KillDisk Pro onto a floppy disk type the following at the command prompt:
COPY G:\KILLDISK.EXE A:
COPY G:\DOS4GW.EXE A:
The above assumes that the G:\ drive is the bootable CD-ROM drive and the A:\ drive is the floppy disk drive.
DOS4GW.EXE is a required file for Active@ KillDisk, Active@ UNERASER and Active@ Disk Image.

What are the differences between "information systems" and "information services"?
Q.

A. In general, Information Systems are the computers, the data itself, the software and all the mechanical stuff. Information Services usually refers to the logical structure--- the various jobs and tasks the computers carry out to make the data accessible. Information Services can also mean the people who work with the technology, in the case of a HelpDesk or similar department. Compare it to an office building where the Facilities would be the elevators, electricity, phones, desks, etc and the Facilities Services would be the security guards, the building maintenance team, the people managing the leases and so forth.

Both are very general terms and a lot of companies use one or the other to mean both--- your company's technical department may be called simply Informatin Systems but it makes up both buckets.

What is the best brand of laptop to buy?
Q.

A. It is not about brand, it is what you get for your dollar.

First, you need to see the laptop that you want to buy! You need to see the screen to see if your eye likes it. If your eye does not like the screen, the rest does not matter!

Next compare prices for CPU speed, Dual core 64bit is good.
How big is the hard drive 100GB at 7200RPM is excellent
80GB at 7200RPM is OK
less than 80GB look for another computer.
1GB RAM is excellent, 512 - see if you can do better, 256 Trash it. Give the system 3 points if its WIN XP PRO or WIN Media
one point if XP Home.

Wireless ready is better than no wireless network.
DVD read/write + - R is better than DVD ROM or CD only.

AMD is usually cheaper than INTEL with better performance.
The newest Intel Dual core gives the best performance, if it also has 1GB RAM at the same price for AMD dual Core 64 bit..
