Is there a digital frame or desktop gadget that syncs and displays google calendar?

Q. Any ideas or suggestions for some sort of wifi or usb screen that i could use on my desk to display my google calendar agenda? Hopefully not too expensive but if it has multi-funtionality the price is not too important.

A. You can try to use this software---Desktopgather.
I have used it for a long time.
It can help you to calibrate the system time of the computer, and establish the different style clock (for example, the Point clock, the Number clock, and the Cartoon clock), the stopwatch and the real-time demonstration to the time of the different time zone.

I'm having trouble finding work in my industry, and am considering the IT field..?
Q. I was a paralegal but it's been tough to find full-time employment (I've spotted new openings, applied to ones I have experience in, but I've seen a number of postings in areas of law, like bankruptcy and corporate securities, which I lack a background in (the law firms that are hiring usually require 5 years working in these specializations). I know I have no problem sitting behind a PC or laptop for hours on end (I've had completed a few data entry projects in the past). I have two questions - which software programs are really in demand these days by IT hiring managers? One that comes to mind is SQL; I've seen many postings for positions which require proficiency in this. The other question is: do you need a certain mindset to excel in IT? My guess is you need to be more analytically inclined. I remember taking a programming course (the name of the app escapes me) years ago and pretty much feeling frustrated by it. All the "queries" and "strings", etc... threw me off and I felt lost. Is there something I can do (some form of logic games, etc.. Sudoko? chess?) to prep my mind so I could take a programming class in the future and do well in it? I know IT is a big field so I would be open to other areas like digital arts or help desk.

A. I am definitely biased toward databases, so you will have to take that into consideration when reading my answer.

The reason you are seeing many jobs that list SQL as a qualification is because data is becoming increasingly important. Companies are collecting data faster than they can analyze and they have access to a ton of social data and government data that could help their competitive advantage. SQL is one of the main ways that you access that data. Even business professionals are starting to pick up basic SQL.

SQL isn't the end all. Once you have the data, you need to analyze it and put it into a format that can be displayed. Microsoft Excel is becoming a pretty powerful tool in that area. Although it isn't the only tool and you could use SSRS, SPSS, or other analytics tools.

If you want to learn something that will be around for a long time learn SQL. If you want a job that doesn't have much unemployment, then look to jobs that work with data.

Another field that is really booming right now is Mobile App Developers. But I don't know too much about that market.

Are these computer components compatible?
Q. For starters, I am completely tech-stupid. My desk top is almost 4-years old, and I want to replace it, but I am going to go with a lap-top because I need the portability for work. My plan is to get and external hard drive to store things like pictures, movies, etc and a large monitor. When I am at home I will connect the laptop to the monitor, mouse, keyboard, and hard drive and use it like a desktop computer. When I am working or traveling, I will take it with me.

My question, will these separate pieces work together? I don't want to have to return anything. Will I need a special cords? Also I have an HP Deskjet F4400 at home I want to connect and The Microsoft Office 2007 Home Premium software. I just want to open the box, plug it in and go. Thanks!

So I checked and the monitor is VGA, so that's set. My current mouse and keyboard are not USB, but I can get an adapter or just get new ones. So my only question now is software/OS compatibility, unless I missed something. THANKS AGAIN!

A. Yes they are.
