Can I sync music to my ipod, not from the original computer?

Q. I want to reset my ipod somehow i guess, that way i can sync the music from my computer onto it, instead of from the desk top i have. The music on it, is from the desk top, but i would like to put the music from the itunes on my computer onto it. Is this possible?

Q. ive got an 8gb ipod touch 3rd gen i think but anyway i had originally installed Itunes and my music library to my old desk top computer, now though its in my loft because ive just moved and cant find it anywhere. so im using my laptop and ive just installed Itunes on it and i want to transfer all my songs from my Ipod into the new library how do i do this?

oh and also it asked me that i could only have one library at a time and if i wanted to erase and something or transfer my purchases, but i just closed everything down at that point because i didnt want to ruin my libray. many thanks :)
