Q. Erm... I just downloaded auto-desk maya or something trial version onto my windows computer, but I think i didn't download it from the original website but somewhere else (don't ask, I've forgot where), and so when I opened the installer my computer started acting up. My internet and computer switching on/off became really slow, my homepage changed into a random search thing, and I have this "certified tool bar". I've tried to change my homepage back, and delete the toolbar, restart my internet router, but still, it always pops back up. PLZ HELP. Oh yeah, for your information, my anti virus software is Microsoft Essentials. This is also the 6th time I've tried to post this question but my internet always acts up so I can't post it.
Also, in what other ways does DownTango affect my computer?
PLZ ANSWER, I REALLY NEED HELP
Thx, Quazar
In reply to sly_old_mole's answer, I've tried to go onto the internet but my internet went haywire. After a couple times of trying, i finally managed to download them, but when I ran the scan I couldn't find anything wrong about it :(

My computer keeps running slow and when i start it up my desktop takes forever to load. What can it be?
Q. I dont have alot on stuf on my computer. It just a school computer with a little bit on documents. But like for a month it has been taking forever to load my desk top. Any ideas to anyone?
A. To help you it is best that you always provide your hardware specs, operating system, and software (firewall, anti-virus, and anti-spyware).
This is for Windows XP or Vista
Their are a few things that can cause a computer to run slow: dust, poor ventilation, insufficient hardware, damaged hardware, registry errors, disk fragmentation, malware, too many start-up programs, insufficient disk space, and junk files.
All the following are FREE (Downloads can be found at Download.com)
A cool program I like to run before performing system slowing tasks - SmartClose (Windows XP only, have not tested on Vista)
This program closes out of most unnecessary running tasks and programs, you can add tasks you want to keep running to a list. Programs can be restored upon request or at the next computer boot.
Change system settings, especially in Windows Vista, to best performance for lighter use of the hardware (cpu, processer and video card).
--Start> Control Panel> System> Advanced Tab> Under "Performance"> Settings> Click on the "Adjust for best performance" option then "Ok"
Uninstall unused programs, update your computer regularly, update obsolete or old programs.
Run Disk Cleanup - Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disk Cleanup
Run Disk Defragmenter - Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disk Defragmenter
Remove Programs from Startup - Start> Run> msconfig
--Click on the Startup tab and uncheck the boxes of programs unnecessary to run at startup
Install and Run ONE Antivirus Program (Can cause system to slow down if the shield is active)
--AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition http://www.grisoft.com/
*--Avast Anti-Virus Home Edition http://www.avast.com/
--Avira Anti-Virus http://www.free-av.com/
Install and Run Anti-Spyware (Can cause system to slow down if the shield is active)
*--Spybot Search and Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/
*--Spyware Terminator http://www.spywareterminator.com/
--AdAware http://www.lavasoft.com/
*--Spyware Blaster
Install and Run System Optimization tool
*--Ccleaner (Strongly Recommended) http://www.ccleaner.com/
*--Advanced WindowsCare http://www.iobit.com/
--Glary Utilities http://www.glaryutilities.com/
*--Auslogics Registry Defrag http://www.auslogics.com/
Internet Browsers
*--Firefox
--Opera
--Avant
To Maintain Your Systems Safety a Firewall is Recommended (Can cause system to slow down if the shield is active)
*--Comodo
--Zonealarm
* = Favorites (For installing all recommended RAM is 1GB+, Free hard drive space 10GB+, and a decent 2.0Ghz+ processor,
If all this fails then you need new hardware/upgrades or you need to format/reinstall your hard drive/operating system.

Why after getting a caddy pace onto the hd i still get that blue screen?
Q. its saying makre sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. i thought after buying the caddy and putting the hd in pace it would stop that problem. sadly, it still has the same problem what else can be wrong with it? help thanks !
A. Dealing with the blue screen of death . If you have experienced the blue screen of death and you can no longer operate your computer or go to your desk top you may have a Trojan virus to repair do the following
Step 1 As soon as you turn on your computer push f11 and hold it until you see a progress bar the recovery menu is loading when you see it click on advanced then start up repair your computer will restart and return to the same screen click on cancel and you will be brought to desk top Step 2 run a scan using windows defender that will tell you if you have a Trojan . If it turns out you do I recommend you download update and run malwarebytes anti malware if you cant access the internet I suggest you download this and save it to a disk from another computer Step 3 if the virus returns you probably have a virus hiding in system restore disabling system restore will delete your restore points and prevent the virus from returning Step 4 performing a system restore can sometimes help with some kinds of viruses . To perform a system restore click on start up then scroll to maintenance then click on it select back up and restore then repair windows using system restore select a restore point prior to virus then next then finish your computer will restart and then hopefully be virus free remember these options may not work with certain viruses remember to use a sight adviser when downloading this will prevent getting a virus in the first place click here for free sight adviser wot There are other options for dealing with viruses but they are for advanced users tampering with your registry can damage your computer ,if you continue to experience virus I suggest mcafee virus removal support before you consider a system repair reformatting or reinstalling windows will wipe all of your files and you may end up dealing with issues more difficult to fix than the virus
