Q. I did a software update Thursday night which just gave me the new Itunes and other pointless crap. Now my mac is running slow. It takes longer than usual to pull up a web page. It only seems slower on the internet. I have the macbook pro 13.3 inch, 4G. I don't understand why its going slow because I just bought in August... It shouldn't be running like this! Do I have a bug or what's wrong?!
A. All right Mac answers ......Your last update has some issues don't know your OS that you jumper to yet I have to believe it was Apples latest update. Many have had problems with iTunes 10 and the Security Update as well.
Could you run 'Disk Utility' type that in 'Spotlight' thats in the top right had corner and run it. Go to this website and follow the instructions from ''Repair Disk Permissions' on down' http://kb.wisc.edu/helpdesk/page.php?id=3810 that will rule out the Permissions.
Other options is to do a Back Step or if you were using Time Machine back step from there. Last one to consider is try creating a new account and log into the new account and see if the problems exist in there.....here are a few videos on showing how to create another account 'Apple does this all the time'.
Dud talks softly yet effective.

If this doe not do it ion anyway please post an "Additional Details"
As to iTunes yeah your right about the extra Crap like do I really need .....'Ping'?
UPDATE:
Try running the following update download the file then run it, it should work.
10.6.4 Combo Update
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1048?viewlocale=en_US
The real bummer is that 10.6.5 Build 10H529 is still in Beta

My computer is EXTREMELY SLOW when starting up!!! PLEASE HELP ME OUT!?
Q. My computer is about 2 years old, and has been running really fine until about two days ago. Now whenever I boot up, it stays at the WINDOWS XP Screen [Loading Page] for about 5-10 minutes or so until it can change into the WELCOME SCREEN. After getting on the WELCOME SCREEN, the computer runs normally and fine. But its making me really mad having to wait for it to boot up?
Computer Info:
Windows XP Pro
Used 27.3 GB out of 179 GB
I have tried going to run and typing in the MSCONFIG thing, but that didn't help. I cleaned up the disk space and switched my Spyware Finder thing to Spyware Search & Destroy. I've found a few spywares, but I do not think that is the problem.
Please help me!!! Thank you so much, and try to be specific because I can tend to get a little slow sometimes when concerning the computer and it's hardware of whatever.
*** If you can, please do not give me links unless it really does help me. I want step by step instructions to manually save my computer from getting slow at start up. I do not really think additional downloading and softwares is required, am I right? I may not really be a smart computer smartie but I really don't think extra downloading is necessary... I just want to save it from going slow, not put more weight on it's hardrive...

Click on the folder Local Settings. Open the folder Internet temp Files, delete ALL entries.
Open the folder Tem Files, delete all entries.
Open the folder RECENT, delete all entries.
Go back to C:document and settings
Go to All Users,

What laptop should I buy?
Q. around $800-1500
A. Manufacturer does not matter!
What is inside and price are the only issues!
1. Dual Core CPU; Intel is the fastest, AMD is excellent with a better price.
2. 80 GB or larger hard drive. 7200 RPM over 5400. SATA over IDE
3. Not less than 1 GB RAM, 2 GB Better support for VISTA. 512 MB is an out right LOSER!
4. DVD burner no DVD ROM or CD drives.
5. Graphic card is better than On board Graphics. On Board depends upon the CPU, graphic card has its own CPU.
6. Same thing with Audio.
7. No XP Home, XP Pro is better than basic VISTA! Next year VISTA will be the absolute best bet! Right now, it has too many issues!
If you chose to buy the more advanced version and not the basic - go for it!
Do not get swayed by software give aways! Nothing is free, you pay for everything, either in quality or performance! You are buying a computer, not software!
Go to a sight that will let you configure your lap top! Buy what YOU want, at the price you want!
