Could you please tell me where I can get info on MS Sharepoint Server: description, training, free resources.?

Q. I am considering taking a position that requires knowledge and preferably hands-on experience with Microsoft's Sharepoint Server (Help Desk) at a [post 9/11] sensitive Federal Government site located in the Nation's Capital. Is there a way I could quickly bring myself "up to speed" on this hardware/software environment at no $$$$ cost? Any online information or resources (e.g., URL links) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...!

A. I would start at Microsoft's own website:

Presentation software?
Q. I would want to do a presentation, but using more than one program (PowerPoint and winamp). Swithing between programs make a presentation uncool, so is there a way to lock the video output on the projector? For example, i have done my Powerpoint presentation, i lock my projector screen on powerpoint while i change a program in my laptop. Possible?

A. It's perfectly possible and there's several ways of doing it

Many projectors have a Freeze option as described in this instruction sheet - http://sharepoint.lfcds.org/employee/it/Tech%20Tips/Freezing%20The%20Projector%20Image.aspx

Another method is use dual monitors - or at least use the projector as a dual monitor. The computer just knows something is plugged into a second video port but doesn't really care what it is. You can drag your applications from the real monitor to the projector "monitor".

Another way is to have a real dual monitor setup and use a splitter on one of the them to send the video signal to the projector.

These methods are discussed at http://www.edugeek.net/forums/av-multimedia-related/38660-freeze-feature-projectors.html

Another method is a simple AB video switch. Set up both monitors then split both signals using splitters one output from each goes to the monitors as normal the other goes to the AB box then back out to the projector. Video AB boxes can be cheap, $5 or less from some places - http://google.com/search?q=video+ab+box

The important thing is to try whatever method you choose before the big day. You really do need to practice so that you know whatever method you've got will actually work and to make sure you can cue everything up properly without fluffing it.

I used to work as an AV tech at a college and were doing this sort of thing all the time. From ancient computer setups under a desk in some old classroom to all singing and dancing auditorium projectors with multiple inputs and a rat's nest of wiring.

What's "Microsoft Dynamics CRM"?
Q. What is this software for and what does CRM stand for??

A. Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a Customer Relationship Management software package developed by Microsoft. Out of the box, the product focuses mainly on Sales, Marketing, and Service (help desk) sectors, but Microsoft has been marketing Dynamics CRM as an XRM platform and has been encouraging partners to use its proprietary (.NET based) framework to customize it to meet many different demands.
The Microsoft Dynamics family of business applications includes other related products such as Microsoft Dynamics AX (ERP application), Microsoft Dynamics GP, (ERP application) Microsoft Dynamics NAV (ERP application), and Microsoft Dynamics SL (ERP Application) and also Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System; also known as Dynamics RMS.
Dynamics CRM is a server-client application, which, like Microsoft SharePoint, is primarily an IIS-based web application which also supports extensive web services interfaces. Clients access Dynamics CRM either by using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or later web browser or by a thick client plug-in to Microsoft Outlook. While other browsers can be used to access Dynamics, results can be mixed and are not supported by Microsoft.[citation needed]
The current version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM is 2011
