what audio recording device to use to transfer to computer to burn a CD?

Q. Looking for something less expensive and not to difficult to process. I think I have I
have a desk top by Dell to start with. I have
a mic, can get USB cable (which one), what
software? Not a genuis but flexiable.

A. If what you're trying to do is make a copy of an existing audio cd or burn a brand new cd from mp3 or wma's that you may have on your pc... you can do it with the default cd/dvd burner that came with your pc. and with the burning software that came with your Dell. Some Dell come with Sonic, some with Roxio, and some others with Nero. So, check your pc to find out what software came with it. If you do not have a burning software... you can download Burn4Free which is freeware here is a link:

And here is a tutorial on how to copy and/or burn cds.

good luck.

How to I put freeware onto a cd?
Q. I downloaded the free edition of quick books from their website. It's on my computer that has internet but I want to put it onto a computer that has no internet access. How do I do this?

A. Hi to put any file on a CD first you must download the freeware to a specific folder or desk top to make it easy to remember. Then you must have burning software (eg Nero). you open your burning software import the the freeware file to the burner software & burn the CD. Depending on your burning SOFTWARE it should promt you as you go through the burn process. If you don't already have a burner you could download it as freeware I have heard Nero is a good burning software programme & is completely free. I will add the the direct address (url) below for free Nero 9 download page. Once you have down loaded the software on a CD you can then re-install the programme on the new PC, When you install the setup on the new PC you then click on the new icon & finish installing the new programme, the only way you will have a problem is if this programme needs access to the internet to function properly(PC should advise of this if needed), other than that it should all work perfect. Hope this helps good luck.

Can I run a program on my old desk top hard drive to recover information on it or even fix it after I turn my?
Q. Can I run a program on my old desk top hard drive to recover information on it or even fix it after I turn my computer on? It's telling me that I lost my BIOS.... What does this mean..?! I can follow instruction very well. Could someone please help me out somehow????

A. To recover...

Remove hard drive from case...

Place into external drive case or buy a USB cable that works with SATA / IDE / EIDE 40 and 44 pin hard drives... This is the one that I use... about $25

Afterwords, see if the drive can be read as an external drive...

If it can be read, Great...

If not, then you can try a software recovery...

There may be freeware alteratives out there (actually I know there are) but the one that I have had the best luck with is Filerecovery Professional http://www.lc-tech.com/software/frprodetail.html which goes for $99.99... But they do have a download so that you can "try before you buy" to see if it will work for you... Once you see if it recovered your files you can purchase it... If it did not recovery your files, I guess you will have to post again to find other possible solutions...

$125 for the cable and software, I guess you will have to determine how much your data is worth... I have used the cable for multiple hard drives when I only needed temporary access and did not want to fool around with a case... The cable can come in handy when you least expect it to...

Just do not try to recover the data to the same hard drive... You will over-write the data and possibly case data loss...

Last thing... This software is time consuming depending on the computer that you use to run it... I did a 40GB drive one time and it took about 24 hours... Be patient and after about 5-10 minutes the program will tell you how long it needs to complete the recovery... It will give you the answer in minutes, so divide by 60 to get hours if you need it...
