How do you fit RAM into a computer?
Q. I have an eMachines T3104 desktop, I have just bought 512mb PC 2100 (I think) SDRAM, it'll work if my existing RAM is PC 2100, PC 2300, or PC 2700. I already know that Geek Squad will install it for $40, but I need the extra cash. Can someone please tell me how to take out my existing RAM, and put my new RAM in?

A. First Read your motherboard users guide.

Disconnect your system from the wall socket.

Open it. Look at you motherboard. You will see where the RAM is installed. There will be empty sockets there, to support more RAM.

Pay attention to the notch on your RAM so that you align it with the notch in the socket. This notch insures that you put the right type in and in the right direction.

You motherboard Users Guide tells which sockets to use relative to the amount of RAM you are installing! READ YOUR MOTHERBOARD USERS GUIDE! Do not take instructions from this forum! Not even mine!

To place Active@ KillDisk Pro onto a floppy disk type the following at the command prompt:
COPY G:\KILLDISK.EXE A:
COPY G:\DOS4GW.EXE A:
The above assumes that the G:\ drive is the bootable CD-ROM drive and the A:\ drive is the floppy disk drive.
DOS4GW.EXE is a required file for Active@ KillDisk, Active@ UNERASER and Active@ Disk Image.
